Matěj Vršan (born 1993)
I am an artist and an aspiring adventure game developer. For several years, I have been painting artworks and portraits, and ever since childhood, I’ve had a deep passion for video games. I enjoy not only playing them but also the entire culture around them — from game books and comics to collecting merchandise. I’m currently focusing on developing my own point-and-click and text-based adventures, where I combine visual art with storytelling and atmosphere building.
Karel Matoušek (born 1993)
He is an independent guitarist and composer focused on original music. He has been dedicated to music for several years. In 2025, he created the original soundtrack for the games Poslední dopis and Katherine, where his work plays a key role in shaping the game’s atmosphere.

I, Matěj Vršan, worked on KATHERINE as the writer and developer, creating the entire project in the Ren’Py engine.
The music and sound design were composed by Karel Matoušek.
KATHERINE was originally released in Czech, and I’ve done my best to translate it into English so that players around the world can experience the story as well.
The game is available for free on PC and macOS.
Simply download the archive, extract it, and run Katherine.exe (on Windows) or Katherine.app (on Mac).
No installation is required — just start the game and immerse yourself in the story.
If you see this message:

Follow these steps:

Scroll down and find the message about the blocked app KATERINA.

Confirm Open, and the game will start.
